Artificial Intelligence is not just one single thing. It comes in different forms, depending on how smart the machine is and what it can do. Based on this, AI is usually divided into three types: Narrow AI, General AI, and Super AI.
Narrow AI is the type of AI we use in our daily life. It is created to do one specific job, and it does that job really well. For example, Google Maps shows directions, YouTube suggests videos, and your phone unlocks using face recognition. These systems are smart, but only within their limited task. They cannot think or work outside what they are designed for.
General AI is the idea of a machine that can think and learn like a human. Such an AI would be able to understand different situations, solve problems, and learn new skills on its own. Right now, General AI does not exist. Scientists and researchers are still working towards this goal.
Super AI goes one step further. It is a future concept where machines become more intelligent than humans in every way—thinking, learning, creativity, and decision-making. Super AI is mostly discussed in movies, books, and future predictions, and it also brings serious ethical questions.
To sum up, Narrow AI is what we have today, General AI is what we hope to build, and Super AI is a possible future idea. These types help us understand how AI is growing and where it might lead us.
